Ownership Disclosure
The Antelope Valley Home Water Guide is owned by the same team that owns SoftPro Water Systems, an online store selling water softeners, filters and well-water equipment.

Who owns this site
This guide is owned by the same team as SoftPro Water Systems, an online store. When a reader buys something from the store, the owners of this site earn from that sale. That is a financial interest, and it is the reason this page exists. The guide has no other owner, sponsor or paid placement, and it is not connected to any water supplier, plumbing company or septic service.
Where we link to the store
Store product links appear only on these five guides:
- Do I Need a Water Softener in the Antelope Valley?
- Water Softener Cost
- Salt-Free Water Softener
- Reverse Osmosis vs Water Softener
- Well Water Treatment
The store's home page is also linked from the about page and from this page. Each of the five guides opens with a short disclosure, a product link in the text is followed by a note that SoftPro Water Systems is a store we own (or sits in a sentence that already says so), and the store button carries the full disclosure beside it. No other page links to the store, including the tap water, chromium 6, arsenic, well testing, septic, water heater, pipe and hiring guides.
How we handle the store's claims
Product descriptions are reported as the store's own claims, not as findings of this guide. Prices are quoted as the store's listed price on the date they were checked. Where a product has no certification on record for a contaminant, the guide does not say it removes that contaminant, and it points readers to the State Water Board's list of certified treatment devices for problems such as hexavalent chromium or arsenic.
The guides also say plainly when a purchase is optional: on city water in Lancaster and Palmdale, where the reports show moderately hard water, a softener is a comfort choice, and on a private well, a certified lab test should come before any treatment.
What we don't do
The guide does not rank local companies, accept payment for mentions, or link to other stores. It does not sell testing, repairs or installation. Water figures come from the suppliers' reports and agency pages described in how we research, whether or not they make a product look necessary. All other guides are listed on the guides page.
