About the Antelope Valley Home Water Guide
The Antelope Valley Home Water Guide is a homeowner information guide to water, wells, septic, water heaters and pipes in Lancaster, Palmdale and the rest of the valley.

Who we are
This site is a reference written for people who own or rent homes in the Antelope Valley. It turns the water suppliers' annual reports, state and federal agency guidance, building code excerpts and maker manuals into plain answers, and it names and links the source behind each local figure. Pages carry the byline "the Antelope Valley Home Water Guide editors" rather than invented names, and each page shows when it was last updated.
What this site is not
This guide does no plumbing work, supplies no water and services no septic tanks: it is not a plumbing company, not a water utility and not a septic service, and it holds no affiliation with any business or agency of those kinds. It does not sell repairs, send anyone to a house, test water or run any part of a water system. It has no connection to Palmdale Water District, LA County Waterworks District 40, AVEK, Quartz Hill Water District, Rosamond CSD, Cal Water or any government agency, and their names appear here only because their reports are quoted.
The guide also has no connection to the business that previously used this web address. The address changed hands, and nothing on the site, from its text to its photos, comes from that earlier business.
What the guide covers
The all guides page lists every topic: tap water reports and hardness, softeners and filters, private wells, septic systems, water heaters, pipes and leaks, and hiring a licensed contractor. The home page gives a short overview, and how we research explains where the numbers come from and what is left out.
Links to SoftPro Water Systems
This site is owned by the same team as SoftPro Water Systems, a store that sells water softeners, filters and well-water equipment. A handful of softener, reverse osmosis and well treatment guides link to its products, and each link is labeled. The ownership disclosure lists those pages and explains how the store's claims are handled.
How the site handles data, its conditions and its accessibility work are covered in the privacy policy, the terms and the accessibility page.
